Jazz at Lincoln Center facilities, part of the 1.7 billion dollar complex, Time-Warner Center, under construction at Columbus Circle in New York City will open in Fall 2004. The new facilities include Rose Hall, a 1200 seat flexible opera house/concert hall/jazz performance space with flexible seating arrangements; the Allen Room (a Performance Atrium overlooking Central Park) that will seat approximately 500 people, and the smaller, more intimate Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola. Other facilities include fully-equipped recording studios, rehearsal spaces, classrooms, offices and the Ertegun Jazz Hall of Fame. Artec is working as theatre planning and theatre equipment consultants on the project, and is providing Comprehensive Acoustics and Sound & Communication Systems design services in joint venture with WDSG under the name Sound of Jazz.


Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center for the Performing Arts is nestled in downtown Paducah, Kentucky, on the outskirts of a burgeoning arts district along the river. This latest collaboration between Artec and Zeidler Partnership Architects of Toronto boasts a flexible 1800-seat venue and a 225-seat multi-function room designed for a wide range of events from traveling Broadway musicals and symphony orchestras to pop music concerts and corporate events. The Center opens with a gala weekend February 27-28, 2004 featuring performances by Vince Gill and B.B. King. Artec provided Basic Design Services, Theatre Planning and Theatre Equipment Consulting, in addition to Acoustics Consulting, Sound & Communication Systems design and Financial Analysis/Fundraising Counsel.


Muskingum College Communication Arts Complex opens April 2004 and serves to unite the various communication-related programs under one roof. Realizing a dream of many college alumni and faculty, the center will house a 250-seat theatre (which will serve as a recital hall and cinema), radio station, television studio, state-of-the art design and technology classrooms, as well as exhibit gallery, and an experimental theater/rehearsal hall. Artec services included Basic Room Design, Theatre Planning, Theatre Equipment and Acoustics Consulting, as well as Sound & Communications Systems design.


Germantown Friends School, will reopen Taulane Auditorium in September 2004. Formerly the historic Second Church of Christ Scientist, this auditorium was built by the famous Philadelphia architectural firm Day and Klauder in 1916. Germantown Friends School desired improvements which would make the 400-seat multi-use space acoustically and theatrically usable, as well as safer for the school community. For this project, Artec is providing Acoustic Consulting, Theatre Planning and Theatre Equipment Consulting Services.


Schouwburg en Congresscentrum Orpheus in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands will reopen in November 2004. The center comprises renovation of a 1200-seat concert theatre, and the new construction of both a 700-seat multi-functional theatre and a 250-seat studio theatre. Artec is providing acoustics consulting services for each of these rooms. It is expected that with this renovation and expansion, the center will be better equipped to serve the area of Apeldoorn as the premier facility for the performance of music, opera, ballet, and drama. It will also be the congress center for the City of Apeldoorn.


The National Philharmonic Concert Hall in Budapest, Hungary, part of the Millenium Center Development of the Tri-Granit Development Company, will provide the performing arts groups in Budapest and visiting orchestras with a first class concert hall of 1800 seats. Located near the city center on the Pest side of the Danube, the building will be a prime tourist attraction in a city already renowned for its beauty. Artec is providing the comprehensive theatre planning services, theatre equipment consulting services and comprehensive acoustics consulting services.
